Mother Courage and Her Children

Mother Courage and Her Children
By Bertolt Brecht

Written on the eve of the Nazi war machine's expansion into Poland in 1939, and set in the midst of Europe's 17th century "Religious Wars," Mother Courage and Her Children exploded through centuries of stale theatrical convention to establish an entirely new way to "do theatre," immediately earning an enduring place in the pantheon of the world's greatest anti-war literature, and introducing to the world one of the theatre's most confounding and memorable characters; Anna Fierling, AKA "Canteen Anna." AKA - Mother Courage.
